What Podsift is
Podsift is a free email service for podcast summaries. Rather than opening an app, you enter and verify an email address, pick the shows you follow, and the service sends you an AI generated summary whenever a new episode is released. The appeal is passive: no app to remember, no feed to check. The catalog covers a range of popular podcasts and grows over time as more shows are added.
What you can do with it
- Follow selected podcasts and receive episode summaries by email.
- Triage a back catalog without listening to every episode.
- Decide which episodes deserve your full attention.
- Catch up on a show before a discussion or meeting.
Who it is for
- Busy listeners who follow more shows than they can hear.
- People who want a quick filter before committing time.
- Anyone who prefers reading a digest to a full episode.
What to watch out for
A free service can change its terms, delivery schedule or catalog at any time, so do not rely on it as your only record of a show. Summaries are generated automatically and can miss tone, nuance or a key aside, so treat them as a filter rather than a replacement for listening. Coverage depends on your chosen shows being in the catalog, and niche podcasts may be missing. Finally, you are handing over an email address, which is the price of email delivery. Name and archive exported files consistently so you can find and reuse them, and keep a backup copy of key data. When quality matters, export a small draft first to confirm the result before producing the final file.
